The Hurricanes and the Brumbies have both had a relatively short turnaround for this match with no shortage of travel.

The Hurricanes flew back from South Africa after their match in Cape Town and the Brumbies played the Western Force on Saturday.

In the run up to the match the Brumbies suffered a major blow as they lost David Pocock for the season on Wednesday as he has had a knee reconstruction.

The Hurricanes last beat the Brumbies in Wellington in 2009 and the only other match between the teams in the city was in 2012 so the Brumbies will not be too familiar with the ground.

The average score when the Hurricanes host the Brumbies in Wellington is Hurricanes 31 Brumbies 25.

In terms of selection the Hurricanes have made two changes for this week’s match with James Marshall coming in for Marty Banks at fullback.

The other change is Adam Hill coming at blindside flank for the injured Faifili Levave.

The Brumbies have also tinkered with their team but this is largely due to the loss of David Pocock.

Jarrad Butler shifts around the scrum from No.8 to open-side flanker in the absence of David Pocock, moving Captain Ben Mowen to No.8 and Scott Fardy from lock to blind-side flanker.

The backs Pat McCabe has been rotated with Andrew Smith coming into the starting line up for the first time since 2012. He will be up against Conrad Smith and Hadleigh Parkes.

The Brumbies opened their season with a loss at home to the Reds. They recovered with a victory over the Western Force who are stuggling to find their best game.

The Hurricanes have yet to win a match but they have been steadily improving with each match and both matches have been away from home. Last week they were leading until the Stormers scored a try three minutes from full time.
